True Shiny
Feature Explanation
True Shiny is an experimental feature that identifies Pokémon that are shiny specifically for your account. It is not a raid feature. Raids are only used to obtain your Player ID during setup.
Scopely can change or patch this feature at any time without warning. If True Shiny stops working, it is not guaranteed to return.
How to Set Your Player ID
- Open iPogo Settings and enable Set Player ID (Player ID Popup).
- Go to any raid and create a Private Group beneath the Battle button. Always use a Private Raid Lobby , not a public one.
- Within approximately 5–10 seconds , your Player ID will appear in a popup. Tap Save .
- Return to iPogo Settings → Set Player ID to confirm your ID was saved, then disable the automatic Player ID Popup to prevent it from appearing again.
You can leave the lobby immediately after obtaining your Player ID. No raid completion or raid pass is required. You can do this locally by teleporting to a raid; a Remote Raid Pass is not required .
Free Users
- Enable True Shiny .
- Enable Filter True Shiny Only .
- Click Pokémon Feeds , or use the slower-updating Live Feed Bar (a 2 km limit for non-Shundos; global for Shundos only).
Paid Users
VIP unlocks the global True Shiny feed through Shiny Feeds. True Shiny itself is available to both free and paid users, with the free feed limits described above.
- Enable True Shiny .
- Click Shiny Feeds for the global feed.
Choose Your Settings
- True Shiny: Adds True Shiny Pokémon alongside the other Pokémon in your selected feeds.
- True Shiny Only: Shows only True Shiny Pokémon in your selected feeds.
Not Working Correctly?
You may have obtained someone else's Player ID. Create a Private Raid Lobby and retrieve your correct Player ID again. Public lobbies may display someone else's ID, causing True Shiny to work incorrectly. Once your ID is saved, disable the automatic Player ID Popup.
Note: Feeds are not accurate for players below level 30.

Cooldown Triggers
Actions that trigger cooldown
If an action is not on this list, it does not trigger cooldown:
- Catching a Pokémon (including Incense, Coin Bag, Raid Boss, and Meltan Box spawns)
- Dropping or throwing a ball on the catch screen
- Spinning PokéStops or Gyms
- Placing a Pokémon in a Gym
- Battling in a Gym
- Feeding Gym defenders ( while physically at the Gym )
This list will be updated if new triggers are discovered.
What is sniping and how do I do it?
Sniping means teleporting to a Pokémon's coordinates to catch it. Enter the coordinates into iPogo and tap the Pokémon.
Teleporting and tapping the Pokémon do not trigger cooldown. Before throwing a ball, check the time since your last cooldown-triggering action and the distance you travelled.
If you are still on cooldown, camp on the catch screen until it ends. Read the cooldown guide before catching.
What is Camping?
Camping means waiting on a Pokémon's catch screen until your cooldown ends.
- Tap the Pokémon, but do not throw a ball .
- Wait on the catch screen and set a timer for the remaining cooldown.
- After cooldown ends , throw a ball to catch it.
You MUST respect cooldown times. Catching too soon can fail and the Pokémon will flee.
What are Speed Raids?
Speed raids means moving between raids to look for a shiny Pokémon or a particular IV. You must be off your previous cooldown before starting. After the battle, run from the Raid Boss encounter before moving to the next raid.
Dropping or throwing a ball on the catch screen, or catching a Raid Boss, triggers cooldown. Respect the cooldown before interacting at another location.
Spawns show the wrong level
What is a Cooldown?
Cooldown is the wait time after doing an in-game action (like catching or spinning). It is based on how far you teleport after the action . Teleporting itself does not trigger cooldown , but if you act too soon after jumping locations, the next action can fail.
Maximum cooldown is 2 hours. If you have not done any cooldown-triggering actions in 2 hours , you can act anywhere.
Cooldown distance
The wait after teleporting is based on the distance from your last action . For example, if you caught a Pokémon and then teleported 500 km away, wait 1 hour before doing another action. The wait increases with distance, up to 2 hours at 1,500 km or more .
How to check cooldown
- Check the iPogo Journal ( Settings ) on iOS.
- Check the in-game Journal ( Avatar > Journal ).
- Use the Sniping Tool with cooldown warnings enabled.
- Use Feeds and check the timer at the bottom right.
See which actions trigger cooldown or learn how to camp a Pokémon while waiting .
